Love Month ♥♥♥

February is the second month of the year in the Julian and Gregorian calendars. It is the shortest month and the only month with fewer than 30 days. The month has 28 days in common years or 29 days in leap years.

February is the third month of meteorological winter in the Northern Hemisphere. In the Southern Hemisphere, February is the seasonal equivalent of August in the Northern Hemisphere (which is the third month of summer), in meteorological reckoning.

February starts on the same day of the week as March and November in common years, and on the same day of the week as August in leap years. February ends on the same day of the week as October every year and on the same day of the week as January in common years only. In leap years, it is the only month that ends on the same weekday it begins.

As for me:

Love month as they call it, February seems to awaken people’s yearning  for “LOVE”. People feel obligated to have a special someone, to buy expensive flowers and chocolates and to go out on a date which results to a tremendous and horrifying  traffic. I’m not being cynical about the Love month but I don’t get it! Why do you need to wait for February just to give your girl a bunch of flowers that is already 3x pricey. And if you are single, why force yourself to go out with someone you don’t really like just for the sake of showing people you’re with someone.

Love should be celebrated everyday! Love should be spontaneous and consistent. You don’t need to wait for February to show someone they are special. You can do it everyday. A simple kiss on the cheek, a hug before you leave, a stroke on her hair, cooking his favorite meal and a tight embrace before you go to sleep are just things you can do to make her/him feel special.

Flowers dry up, Chocolates melt and expensive meals get flushed on the toilet. Small gestures of love are lasting memories that will be treasured for life. I choose to give and receive the gestures. Be ready for a million hugs from me 🙂 Happy Valentines!

Investing on Wonderful Memories…

US3 (2)

Invest— to provide or endow someone or something with.

As they say…we only live once,

We need to go out there and live our lives to the fullest.

Don’t let anything or anyone destroy  even a single minute of your life

by dwelling on how they would want you to live your life.

Boat ride2

Every minute is of great value

And we must not waste it musing on the past.

What’s done is done

Tomorrow’s a new day to start with.

Invest on today.

Make good and wonderful memories that would last a life time.

Going on a 30 Pesos boat right may be cheap in value,

But in the eyes of a child, it’s a treasure that they will always remember.

Like education,

Building wonderful memories are like keeping precious gems in a treasure box

Sealed and fused through time.

These are riches that other people cannot purloin.

The money you spent on one trip to the beach

Is not as imperative as the joy you see on their faces.

The amount of money you exhausted

Could not measure up to the echoing sound of their laughter.

Boat Ride

As for me:

I intent to invest wonderful and meaningful memories on my children’s childhood

As my parents did to mine.

I will not be here forever,

But my memories with them will.

I love my kids dearly,

And I will not waste a second making them magnificent memories

that they will  tearfully tell stories about.

I’m investing them today so my children can accrue them tomorrow.

I had you on my Birthday

Baby Tanya

I had you on my birthday.

We didn’t plan it nor

we didn’t pray for it,

But I guess God gave me more reason to commemorate the day I was born.

You were a pretty awesome gift.

A gift, I will forever be thankful for.

I named you Nathania Ysabella for two simple reasons,

Nathania  is of Hebrew origin, and its meaning is “God has given”.

Isabella is your father’s chosen name,

it too has a Hebrew origin. It means ‘God is my oath.’

I changed the “I” to “Y” to make it a little bit different since this name is very prevalent.

A few months after your name “Ysabella” became a TV series.

You gave us so much joy,

You brought meaning to our lives.

And continue to inspired us to do better as a person,

and as a couple.

We cannot promise you all the luxury in life,

But we will assure you that we will have lots of fun

building your dreams .

We will allow you to spread your wings

and prepare you for your future.

Shower you with all our Love

to strengthen you in facing life’s challenges.

I Love you with all my heart.

You are God’s greatest gift to me,

my Lovely Oath to God

and the reason for me to celebrate my life.

Happy Birthday my Dear!

L♥ving what you do…

We have a lot of things to do on this life time.

From the moment we wake up,

‘Til our time of slumber.

We even plan our chores for the next day,

before saying goodbye to today.

But out of all these things that we do,

which one comes from the heart?

When do we say “I love what I do

or should it be “I do what I love“?

As for me,

I’d say “I Love what I do!”

I don’t go out of my way,

Just to look for that one thing that I would love doing.

I’d do anything time permits me to do,

And I’ll learn to fall in love with it.

They say: “You only live once

So why the heck will you waste your time,

Looking for that something that you have no idea of.

I’d say go and try out new things,

And when you’re on the verge of doing it,

Try to commit to it.

Make yourself open to loving it.

Who knows,

This must be something that will make you say…

I Love what I do!” 🙂

An open Letter to My Ma

September 6, 1948 is that date the Lord has created a wonderful creature. Who would have thought that she will be able to produce 4 beautiful children 🙂 I’m talking about my Ma. Today is her birthday and I would like to let her know how thankful I am that she is our mother. She has always been patient with us. She allowed as to grow in our own way through her guidance. She cared for us selflessly. She’s the type that would sacrifice not eating a meal just to give us what we need or what we want. She may have frequently berate us for not doing what we are supposed to do, but she always respected that we are 4 different individuals trying to discover ourselves and striving to make our own mark. We may have given her a hard time being our Ma, but up until now we are still trying to make her proud in everything we do.

We are who we are because of our Ma and Pa. They always taught us to be kind, respectful and always be fair to people regardless of their stature. Never to start a fight, but be prepared to defend what we believe is right and just. We may not have the luxury of life when we were growing up, but they made sure that we had a happy childhood. They taught us to be simple and practical. Live by our means. Be happy and contented of what we have.

Now that I am a Mom, I realized how hard it is to be one.  I try to be the best like she always has been for us. But I guess I will never measure up to what she has accomplished and still trying to achieve. At her age, she still manages to be there anytime we need her. For Pa, and every single one of us.

Ma, we may have given you heartaches, disappointments and shame. But my sisters and I, will always love and cherish you. We appreciated everything you did for us. Including the ice cream walks and talks we had going home from school. Our me and you time, were you would by me shoes for school and new clothes for Christmas time. The way you take care of us when we’re sick. And wait for us ’til wee hours in the morning. The kisses and embraces. The scolding and nagging. I wish we will be given more time with you. So your grand-kids  will get to experience your love and care. We Adore you Ma, Happy Birthday! I’ll be seeing you soon…
